Methodology

All the activity that forms part of a software project should follow a methodology, taking care to use the techniques established in it. The methodology contains details of the work to be carried out, when, it will be carried out and how it will be carried out and controlled.
A methodology is a useful instrument for the systemisation of the activities that offer support to the lifecycle of software. By using it, the following objectives can be achieved:
  • Provide or define information systems that help to achieve the desired results via the definition of a strategic framework for their development.

  • Offer software products that satisfy the requirements of the users, making the analysis of requirements of greater importance.

  • Improve productivity, allowing a greater capacity for adaptation to changes and taking into account reuse wherever possible

  • Ease communication and understanding between the different participants in the production of software throughout the lifecycle of the project.

The methodological keys can be defined in four important functional groups that allow the different activities to be performed.

1.Processes and Methods

Create processes, methods and tools that all the project to be correctly developed.

2.Monitoring and control

Carry out the monitoring of the project, the aim being to obtain key indicators of the quality that allow its status to be determined at any given moment. Coordinate the different modules involved. Audit the management in conformity with the defined methods and processes.

3.Communication, information and management of knowledge

Focus on communication, in terms of monitoring and defence of the processes and methods described in order to obtain the required level of quality. Prepare reports on the monitoring and status of the project that would be required during its revision, verification and validation by the interested parties. Focus on and manage the knowledge in terms of functionality, technology and all other required areas.

4.Support and evaluation

Provide support in the use and management of the application, providing training in the processes and methods, evaluation in management aspects and assuming the role of expert in quality management methods and processes.
For the execution of its software projects AERIAM using the following methodologies:

  • MÉTRICA V3 as the general methodology for design, development and installation of IT applications.

  • A methodology created by AERIAM based on MÉTRICA V•, CMMI and ITIL that incorporates the company’s experience and knowledge in the development of software solutions for airports and aeronautical industries.
